Say it at the chair

A short design vocabulary

Words that save a conversation. Point at one in a photo and your barber will know what you mean.

  1. Part

A line cut into the hair with a trimmer, usually on the side. A hard part is cut deep and sharp; a soft part is drawn lighter.

  2. Line

The edge of the hairline, temples and neckline, squared or rounded. A lineup resets it between cuts.

  3. Taper

Hair shortens gradually down the neck and around the ears and stops at a clean edge, without going to the skin.

  4. Drop fade

The fade line curves down behind the ear instead of staying level, following the shape of the head.

  5. Burst fade

A fade that fans out around the ear in a half circle and keeps its length at the back.

  6. Design

A pattern cut into the hair with the trimmer: lines, steps, shapes. A bigger design is booked as a longer visit.

From the owner

A letter from Sanai

I opened this shop for clients who ask for something specific: a drop that sits right, a part with a clean edge, a design they have carried on their phone for a month.

Three of us work the floor and we each cut differently. Jayson is the one for tapers and sharp lines. Misael cuts skin fades and shapes beards. I cut drops and designs. Pick the one whose work you like and book them by name.

The fourth chair is for whoever walks in. Sign the board, watch it, and we will get to you.

Quick answers

Do I need an appointment?

No. Tuesday to Saturday the fourth chair takes walk-ins as it opens up. Book if you want a barber and a time, and on Sunday every chair is booked.

How does the walk-in line work?

Sign the board by the door. It shows who is next, and waits vary. Booked clients are seen at their time.

Can you cut my hair?

Waves, coils, curls, twists and straight hair. Tell us how you wear it.

What should I bring?

A photo of the cut or design you want, even a screenshot.

Do you cut kids?

Yes. A cut for ages 12 and under is booked as a kid's cut, and a parent stays in the shop.
